Building Employability Pathways
Building employability pathways to support West London residents move from learning into sustainable employment.
Programme Activity:
Objectives:
- Building on and expanding current work with large learning providers on employability pathways
- Developing and integrating clear employment route ways for all learners on a vocational course
- Joining up providers to create cohesive progression for learners into employment
Achievements:
- Development work undertaken in 2007/08 with three West London Further Education Colleges to develop referrals between their learners, employability support and in-work support. This informed the design of the subsequent programme.
- Package of support offered to West London College's and Adult Education Institutes to help them embed employabilty pathways for all their learners and pilot employabilty pathways with their parent learners.
- Consultancy to support the development of College and Adult Education Institutions employment strategies that include actions to embed and activate employability pathways college wide.
- Delivery of employability pathways for parents by each College and Adult Education Institute with a trial cohort of 100 learners.
- 8 Colleges and Adult Education Institutions developed employabilty pathways and piloted pathways for parents.
- A seedcorn grant was provided to Colleges and Adult Education Institutions to facilitate employability pathways for parents. Target of 800 Learners to be engaged on this programme.
